Mechanical Engineering discipline applies the principles of physics, chemistry and materials science for
analysis, design, manufacturing, and maintenance of mechanical systems. FET has opened Mechanical Engineering
from the academic session 2010-11 to cater to the needs of the country. The following laboratories are being set
up with the state-of-the-art equipment.

To familiarize students to determine various mechanical properties of materials.

Comprises equipment like UTM, Hardness Testing Machines and Impact Testing Machines

Fluid Mechanics and Fluid Machineries Laboratory |

Used for studying various parameters in fluid flow and the working of different hydraulic machines and the generation of mechanical power by them.

Comprises equipment like orifice meter, venture meter, manometer connections with computer interface for data acquisition and processing of data.

Houses hydraulic turbines, hydraulic pumps, etc.

Thermodynamics Laboratory |

Used for measuring various thermodynamic properties of thermal fluid.

Comprises boiler to run steam motor and to conduct experiments to study the principles of thermodynamics.
